Between 2014 and 2023, 15 736 cases of LGV were reported in 18 countries (excluding the UK). A further five countries submitted reports for at least seven of the last 10 years but reported no cases. Most cases during this period were reported in Spain (34%), France (25%) and the Netherlands (19%).
