In 2024, developing East Asia and Pacific (EAP) grew faster than the rest of the world, but slower than before the pandemic. China’s economy grew by 5.0 percent and the rest of the region by 4.9 percent (figure O1; table O1), slower than the 6.7 percent and 5.2 percent, respectively, during the 2015-19 period.
