Hostilities along the Israel-Lebanon border have been recurring since 1948. The current war is one of a number of intermittent high-intensity clashes that have broken out over the past decades. The conflicts in the area of the border have mostly been spillovers from the wider regional ArabIsraeli conflict, including the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Within that context, Israel has invaded Lebanon various times. These invasions have had a devastating impact on the civilian population.1
