Due to model and variable selection uncertainty, studies on the inverted U-shaped relationship between environmental degradation and economic growth—known as the Environmental Kuznets Curve—have produced very mixed evidence. This paper addresses these issues by using Bayesian Model Averaging techniques. The results indicate that the Environmental Kuznets Curve has an inverted-N shape. Almost all of the emerging economies analyzed display a positive association between per capita GDP and carbon d
