Unaddressed sensory impairments have far-reaching impacts on the lives of those affected and their families. In children, sensory inputs from both vision and hearing are important for optimal developmental and learning outcomes (1–4). Uncorrected refractive errors (such as myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism) are the leading cause of visual impairment in school-age children (5–18 years), and global prevalence in myopia is projected to increase significantly in the future in this age group (5,
