"动物"（Animals）乐队原是1960年成立的一个小型伴舞乐队。 1962年，埃里克·伯登（Eric Burdon，生于是1941年）加入后成为英国60年代 迅速发展的摇滚乐中的一个重要乐队。1966年，乐队解散。 伯登成立了"新动物"（New Animals），参加吉米·亨德里克斯乐队的工作， 然后又成立了自己的"战争"（War）乐队。
