Indonesia stands at a critical juncture in its transportation transformation journey. As of early 2025, the country has over 140 million two-wheelers and over 20 million four-wheelers on the road.1 In 2020 it was estimated that the transportation sector accounted for 21% of the country’s energy-related climate pollution, 90% of which came from road transportation.2
