Globally, retail sales value for the consumer products industry—spanning food, beverages, and household
and personal care products—is estimated to have risen 7.5% year over year to $7.5 trillion in 2024, down
from 9.3% growth in 2023 and 9.8% growth in 2022 (see Figure 1). About three-quarters of 2024’s sales
growth is likely to have come from price increases rather than volume gains. That’s healthier than in 2023,
