U.S. clean energy policy has been dominated by Green New Deal thinking, which has sought to force clean technologies into the marketplace with subsidies and mandates. That approach is too costly, and therefore unsustainable and ineffective.  Instead of overcorrecting by rejecting clean energy or ignoring climate change, policymakers should adopt an innovation-driven strategy for spurring new technologies that can compete with fossil fuels on price and performance.  Price/performance parity
