In 2022, 2 623 cases of pertussis were reported by 29 EU/EEA countries. Two countries (Germany and Poland) accounted for 60% of all reported cases. The notification rate in 2022 was 0.7 cases per 100 000 population, which slightly increased compared with 2021, after a major decrease in cases in 2019 and in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
