Life-cycle approaches to human development emphasize the importance of investing along the life cycle. Early childhood development, especially during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, fundamentally affects individuals’ future development and productivity. Thereafter, schooling and, even more important, learning affect the ability of individuals to find decent w
