This paper employs various empirical methods to test the Purchasing Power Party (PPP)hypothesis in West and Central Africa, considering countries wihin the WAEMU, CEMAC, CFA, and ECOWAScurrency zones and four possible numeraire currencies-U.S. dollar, euro, renmimbi, and the CFA franc.
