The Great Britain (GB) energy sector is, in response to the drivers which the climate agenda rightly provides, in transition. The significant structural shift from a fossil fuel-based system of energy production and consumption to renewable sources is necessary but not without challenge. One limit on the speed of transition is the often competing priority of energy security, an issue which has been brought to the fore by recent market volatility following the onset of conflict in Ukraine.
