If we want a stronger economy; if we want a fairer country; if we want more jobs and more businesses; if we want a future made in Australia; then we have to make those skills in Australia in our universities and our TAFEs. Under Bob Hawke and Paul Keating the percentage of young people finishing high school jumped from about 40 per cent to almost 80 per cent. That was nation changing. Now we have to take the next step.
