随着现代科学技术的迅速发展，一个自动化、智能化作业的现代新型农业产业正在逐渐形成，而在农业生产中广泛应用以生物生产机器人为代表的新一代农业装备，将是21世纪现代农业的一个显著特点。本课程以现有生物生产机器人为例，讲述设计生物生产机器人所使用的基本原则、基本原理和基本方法。
