Mauritania’s tremendous renewable energy potential offers several possibilities for accelerated economic development in the country. Solar PV resources form the core of this potential, with Mauritania’s lowest solar irradiation measurements on par with southern Europe’s highest. Furthermore, its onshore wind resource in coastal areas enables offshore level performance but at a lower cost. Deploying these resources at scale to generate low-cost renewable electricity and hydrogen through
