This paper is part of a global project by the Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) and the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) studying the economic and environmental benefits of deploying smart electric vehicle (EV) charging in specific geographies. The project identifies those benefits as avoided system costs and avoided emissions, and shows how system costs can be reduced based on four regional case studies in selected areas within the four largest global EV markets: China,
