Since the last update on 29 August 2025, and as of 26 September 2025, the following changes have been made to ECDC variant classifications for variants of concern (VOC), variants of interest (VOI), variants under monitoring (VUM) and De-escalated variants: – LP.8.1 (formerly VUM) was de-escalated. · For this update, sufficient data for estimating variant proportions during the reporting weeks are only available from five EU/EEA countries. Therefore, the statistics below only represent a limit
